Brethren, a message from WM W. Bro. Gerald Franklin

On June 9th by invitation only an emergent Meeting was called. The meeting was for the Master Mason degree prove up.  After the successful prove up RWB Mel Olson gave the Master Mason Certificate chart lecture.   The certificates were presented. Safe protocols were followed during the evening.

The Grand Lodge of British Columbia and Yukon along with Worksafe BC, BC Restart Plan and the Provincial Health Officer have formulated a plan for the eventual re opening of the lodge when circumstances allow it.  Grand Lodge will continue to monitor the situation because it seems to be changing everyday. The NMBS will be making a seating plan and safety measures and hand cleaning stations The tentative reopening for Doric Lodge is for slated for September 2020.

In the world of Freemasonry we are facing some troubling times with the outbreak of Covid 19 and the emergence of the Black Lives Matter protests. As Masons we are taught that the “the compasses to the Craft for by due attention to their use we are taught to circumscribe our our desires and keep our passions within due bounds”. Remember during these times that we are Masons and our teaching hold us to a higher level.

As Masons we will get through these troubling times together and we will meet again in lodge as brothers.

Worshipful Master
Gerald Franklin
